Interview of Gabby M.
By Sarah P.
How has God used GGFG to impact your life?
GGFG gave me a good outlet for writing and I also met some great people on there. I was able to talk to them in the forums like they were my friends and relate to them, it was awesome.
What led you to become a writer? Did you have any experience before GGFG?
I've always been pretty good at writing and I really enjoy it. I have written some unpublished stories before (fiction and nonfiction), but GGFG has given me a taste of what its actually like to be a writer.
How long do you expect to write for GGFG?
I'm not sure, really. If I continue getting opportunities I might stick around for the next couple of things they publish.
What was your first reaction when you read your own work in the book, "Write For Him"?
Well what I wrote was my testimony, so it was actually a pretty freeing experience for me to be able to share that with people. It felt pretty crazy because it was like the opportunity for some of my work to be published just fell in my lap, it was so cool!
Is there any advice you would give younger writers and girls your age?
I would say first, if you're ready to get serious about writing, be realistic. Learn all the different aspects of writing, what you're best at (like short stories, novels, articles, etc.). If you have trouble with sentence structure and grammar, try to learn as much as you can and find someone who will help you edit and revise and give you healthy criticism. Second, don't give up. This is something you love, write what you want and be proud of it! Jot down ideas you have wherever you are, and don't throw anything away, because even if its not your favorite, you will probably end up using it for something else later. I could give you lots of advice, but I'm sure I've said plenty. Just don't worry too much, and do what you love!
