Ready to Fly- Jamie Grace
Christian music artist Jamie Grace released her second studio album, Ready to Fly, on January 28, 2014.
Ready to Fly is a mix of country and pop, featuring many acoustic sounds but also some very upbeat songs (such as Do Life Big) that make the listener want to dance along. Ready to Fly is a collection of songs focused on the topic of growing up. The songs center around Jamie's view of the future, romance, and God's faithfulness. The messages relayed are much deeper and have a much more audible center on Christ than those on Jamie's previous album, One Song At A Time, and are relevant to teen girls. Listeners may recall having heard tracks numbers two and seven previously. These catchy songs were both popular singles on the radio. Track No. 2 is the hit, Beautiful Day, which talks about thanking God for how He brings joy to our lives and makes them beautiful. Do Life Big (track No. 7) was the second single off Ready to Fly. It features TobyMac's background vocals in a style like that of Hold Me. Do Life Big talks about wanting to change the world by loving, serving, and giving like our Heavenly Father. One of the key messages of Ready to Fly is revealed in the song, Every Bit Of Lovely, track No. 8. In it, Jamie reaches out to girls and tells them that they are beautiful because God, the creator of the universe, made them. Ready to Fly contains a few songs about love and purity, a topic relevant to most teen girls. Track No. 3, Just a Friend, features Manwell Reyes from Group1Crew. It talks about how we can get distracted by our crushes. But Jamie reminds us that God has the perfect guy for us and will bring him to us when the timing is right. Number nine, White Boots, advocates purity, a topic that is important to Jamie Grace. Jamie says that she wrote White Boots with her mother and sister to talk about how she is going to stay pure until she is married. Jamie's sister, Morgan Harper Nichols, backs up this message with a verse about special it is to save yourself until you are married. Jamie closes off her album with Ready to Fly (Avery's Song). Ready to Fly, the title track, is an acoustic song written entirely by Jamie, and it was originally the prelude on One Song At A Time. Since this album's title is the same as the previous album's prelude, it can be expected the Jamie's next album will be titled So Amazing, as is the prelude (track No. 1) on Ready to Fly. I think that Ready to Fly is definitely an album worth buying. Jamie Grace's instrumental style with her likeable voice makes a good blend. Ready to Fly contains many good themes in catchy songs. Plus, a poster is included on the back of the lyric sheet, a bonus for any fan!
